André Bittner is a Strategic Advisor and independent voice working at the intersection of sustainability, finance, and governance. With a background in Civil Engineering and Economics & Politics, and a focus on long-term value creation and governance, he supports institutional investors, corporates, and policymakers in navigating complexity, risk, regulation, and impact. He challenges traditional thinking, connects diverse perspectives, and brings clarity — always with an emphasis on measurable value and transformation.
Educated at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), André has further strengthened his expertise through executive programs at Harvard, Oxford Saïd Business School, and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). He maintains strong academic affiliations with leading international institutions, reflecting his ongoing engagement with research and teaching communities. As Initiator & Co-Lead of the CISL Alumni Sustainable Finance Group, independent member of Millennials4Boards (M4B), and a supporter of the Federal Initiative for Impact Investing (BVII) Swiss Chapter, André actively drives initiatives and shapes sector-wide dialogue.
Driven by the ambition to create meaningful impact, André positions himself as a connector — building bridges between sectors, challenging assumptions, encouraging collaboration, and equipping decision-makers with insights that lead to measurable outcomes. He brings a strong ability to link disciplines, translating sustainability and finance into actionable strategies for governance, investment, and societal transformation.
As one of the most well-connected professionals in sustainability, finance, and academia, André combines research-driven insight with practical experience. Recognized for his insights into ESG strategy and transformation, he has been invited to speak at institutions including IMD Lausanne, CISL Alumni events, and the Energy Forum Zurich. He has published white papers, guides, articles, and commentaries, and is currently working on his first book.
